First, I want to apologize for the absence. I will explain the circumstances surrounding it and my plan for Racial-Justice going forward in this post. However, I want to say I am sorry to you, the reader, for the absence. The necessity for racial reconciliation in society does not take days, weeks, or months off. There have been countless more instances of racial injustice during the months Racial-Justice lay dormant. It is impossible to cover everything we have missed, but I hope to play a bit of catch up before continuing with the timely content.
The reason for the absence is quite simple and one I hope you understand, a job transition. It was a life decision I certainly had not anticipated making. I had always assumed I would be with the police department I began my career with for at least 20 years. I have now transitioned to an administrative and teaching role at a university. As a chief of police for a university police department, I am now able to better hone my skills and calling. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be one of the youngest police chiefs in America.

Teaching has always been a long-term goal of mine. I am thrilled to be able to instruct in the criminal justice program at the collegiate level. I hope to teach the next generation of criminal justice practitioners to have a heart for racial reconciliation. I am sure as my calling continues to develop it will come through in this blog. I plan to pursue my doctorate beginning in 2021, Lord willing.
As for the blog, I want to assure you it is still a priority. I want this blog to be a catalyst for my greater mission on this planet. I would like this blog to be a landing pad for those who want to learn more about what it means to be a police officer pursuing racial reconciliation. I plan to get back to regularly scheduled and consistent content beginning in two-week intervals. The content will be much the same as you have come to expect.
Again, thank you for your patience, but now let’s get back to fighting the good fight and chasing after the dream!
